SAPL services during COVID-19

THE DOWNTOWN LIBRARY AND JENSEN LAKES LIBRARY ARE OPEN

Services at the Downtown Library and Jensen Lakes Library include in-person holds pickup, browsing access to books and other physical collections, drop-in public computer access, study space and in-person staff assistance. Limited hours, limited entry, physical distancing, sanitization and other precautions are in place to ensure the safety of library patrons and staff. Find Library hours and the safety precautions we are taking here.

USE OF THE ONLINE CATALOGUE

Library patrons are able to place holds through their Library account for pickup at either Library location.

LIBRARY MATERIAL RETURNS

The book returns are open at both the Downtown Library and Jensen Lakes Library locations.

PROGRAMS and DIGITAL RESOURCES

  • Check the SAPL calendar for a full listing of online programs and activities for all ages.
  • Explore the incredible range of books, magazines, comics, graphic novels, films, music, TV, homework help, online courses and more that are available to you free with your library card through the SAPL eLibrary.
  • Check out our recorded online programs for children, teens and adults, including storytimes, crafts, STEAM, tech talks, book clubs, a virtual escape room, and more.

MEMBERSHIP, DUE DATES and FINES

  • Late fines on all library materials were suspended while we were closed and in the early stages of reopening. Materials signed out before the library closed in March had their due dates extended to July 30. Late fines resumed on August 4.
  • Not sure when your library materials are due? You can check that online by following these instructions. If you have trouble checking your account online, call us at 780-459-1530 during the Downtown Library's open hours and we'll be happy to help.
  • We continue to quarantine returned materials for a minimum of 72 hours. During that time, those items will remain on your account, but don't worry - they won't accrue fines during quarantine.
  • When the Library was closed, all memberships that were nearing expiry had their expiry dates extended to September 30. Further renewals will now be done in person at the Customer Services desk at either Library location.
