Rhymes and songs that involve sequencing and memory can help children prepare for school. In the following rhyme, children listen for a certain phrase and then react to it with a large physical movement. In addition to having fun, they are actually developing their gross motor skills.Activity: Pretend to climb into a box and have your child pretend to climb into one too and shut the lid. It's very dark inside! Turn the handle and begin reciting the rhyme. On the last line, pop up out of the box.Jack in the box
