SAPL Services During COVID-19

Sept. 20 update: Vaccination required to attend all indoor programs. Masking, distancing and capacity limits continue.

Sept. 15 update: State of Public Health Emergency announced by the Province and new temporary measures introduced.

Sept. 4 update: Masks are now mandatory inside both library locations.


The Downtown Library and Jensen Lakes Library are open

In-person services at both library locations include inside holds pickup, browsing, public computer access, printing and copying, staff help, and limited seating.



  • Jensen Lakes Library open hours: Tuesday to Wednesday 12 PM - 6 PM; Thursday 12 PM - 8 PM, Friday 10 AM - 6 PM, Saturday 10 AM - 5 PM; closed Sunday & Monday.
  • Curbside Pickup service continues at Jensen Lakes Library - you may pick up your holds inside the Library or use Curbside Pickup service for contact-free pickup. 

Public safety precautions are in effect at both Library locations

  • Masks are mandatory at all times inside both library locations.
  • Free masks are available to those who need them.  
  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout both library locations.
  • Capacity is monitored and may be limited at times. 

Vaccination Record Printing

  • Visit the Information Desk at the Downtown Library or the Service Desk at Jensen Lakes Library to get help with printing your Alberta COVID-19 vaccination record.
  • Vaccination Record Printing is free.


  • Indoor programs are proceeding with the requirement of full vaccination for eligible participants. Safety measures such as masking, participation limits and registration requirements continue.
  • We will work with participants of indoor programs to accommodate a variety of proof of vaccination formats. More information will be sent to you via email upon program registration.

  • All online and outdoor Library programs and events continue as planned.

Holds pickup & materials returns

  • Curbside Pickup service is available at Jensen Lakes Library.
  • The book returns are open at both library locations and material due dates remain in effect.
  • Not sure when your library materials are due? You can check your account online by following these instructions. If you have trouble checking your account online, call us at 780-459-1530 or 780-544-0444 during open hours and we'll be happy to help.

  • Digital resources are free with your library card.
  • Check out our recorded online programs for children, teens and adults, including storytimes, crafts, STEAM, tech talks, book clubs, virtual escape rooms, and more.
